Dr. Anil Kumar Anal has been promoted from the rank of Associate Professor to Full Professor, following the approval of the Board of the Trustees at its meeting held on the 9th of January 2020.  

Dr. Anal joined AIT as an Assistant Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) in August 2009 and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2014. He obtained his Ph.D. in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology and M.Sc. in Bioprocess Technology degrees from AIT in 2003 and 1998, respectively. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1995. Dr. Anal’s research encompasses the areas of green technology, smart food processing, and packaging; valorization of food waste and agro-residues for value-addition in food, feed, pharmaceutics and biomedical technology; delivery of bioactive compounds in human, and veterinary applications; analysis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and mitigation strategies in food supply chain systems; innovative methods in quality and safety, risk assessment in food supply chain systems; value-chain analysis in food and natural products; functional foods and neutraceuticals; and nanotechnology in food and pharmaceutical applications.

He is currently the Head of Department of The Department of Food, Agriculture, and Bioresources at the School of Environment, Resources, and Development.
