Dr. Nophea Sasaki has been promoted from the rank of Associate Professor to Full Professor, following the approval of the Board of the Trustees at its meeting held on the 9th of January 2020.

Dr. Sasaki joined AIT as an Associate Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) in 2016. Prior to his appointment at AIT, Dr. Sasaki was an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Applied Informatics, University of Hyogo, Japan from 2004 to 2015. Dr. Sasaki earned his Ph.D. (Hons.) in Agriculture major in Forest Management from the United Graduate School of Agriculture Gifu University, Japan in 2002. He obtained his Master of Science in Agriculture major in Forest Management from Shinshu University, Nagano, Japan in 1999. Dr. Sasaki graduated from the Royal University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh, Cambodia for his Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1994. Dr. Sasaki´s research encompasses the areas of forest cover management and natural resources management.

He is currently associated with the Natural Resource Management academic program under the Department of Development and Sustainability in the School of Environment, Resources, and Development.
