About the school

The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) was established in 1993 and the name SERD was adopted after the EARTH Summit in Rio in 1992, emphasizing the important co-existence of environment and development.

SERD has been on the forefront of developing highly qualified and committed professionals who lead and guide the transition to sustainability in this region and the globe. This will be further important as Asia is the hotbed of economic activities and rapidly integrating into the global economy. Our post-graduate education, research and outreach have addressed multiple aspects of environment, resources and development through several academic and interdisciplinary programs at Master’s and Doctoral level, cutting-age research, and outreach and capacity building activities. Most of our postgraduate programs strive to address the SDGs.
