Dr. Sushil Kumar Himanshu has recently joined the Agricultural Systems and Engineering Academic Program, Department of Food, Agriculture and Bioresources/SERD as an Assistant Professor. He obtained his M. Tech. degree in Hydrology and Ph.D. in Water Resources Development and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. Before joining AIT, he was working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Texas A&M University, USA. He also worked as a Research Scientist at the National Remote Sensing Center of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Hyderabad, India.

Dr. Himanshu has published in highly reputed international journals, such as Journal of Hydrology; Soil and Tillage Research; Science of the Total Environment; CATENA; Agricultural Water Management; Journal of Hydrologic Engineering; Environmental Earth Sciences; Ecohydrology; Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems; and Transactions of the ASABE. Dr. Himanshu has presented his research to several international conferences/meetings in various countries including USA, Norway, UAE, and India.

Dr. Himanshu’s scientific and professional interests are in the areas of: Precision Agriculture, Regenerative Agriculture Technology, Climate-Smart Irrigation Management, Remote Sensing and GIS Applications in Agriculture, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in Agriculture, Big Data Analysis and Applications, Integrated Watershed Management, Hydrologic/Cropping System Modelling.
