Who can apply?

Undergraduate students, preferably in their 3rd and 4th year and current graduate students can apply. Preference will be for undergraduate students. All participants must follow the full program schedule. The total number of participants is limited.

Can I apply if I do not have a bachelor’s degree?

Yes. You may apply after a written authorization by your parents or guardian is submitted. You must also be in the legal age to travel by yourself, to apply.

What should be submitted for application?

The applicant needs to submit the completed application form and include:

  • An attested copy from the university/college of last degree/latest mark sheet (transcript);
  • recommendation letter from current university advisor/mentor/Dean/Principal;
  • Motivation Letter;
  • Authorization letter from parent/guardian (if applicable: see Question 2 above)

What is the duration of the program?

The program duration is 2 weeks from 23 June to 4 July 2014. Participants are expected to arrive on 22nd June and leave by 5th July. The deadline for application is 30 April 2014.

  • Concept of Sustainability, an entertaining and inspirational plunge on the concept with active participant participation.
  • Research trends and its applications in the field of:
    • Agricultural Engineering, Aquaculture; Waste; Biodiversity and eco-system; Rural Development; Urban Environmental management in School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD).
    • Computer applications; ICT; Telecommunications; Mechatronics; Structural Engineering and Construction (AIT Consulting); Geotechnical; Transportation; GIS in School of Engineering and Technology (SET)
    • Entrepreneurship, Technology Management, Sustainable Business, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, Strategy, International Management in School of Management (SOM)
  • Field/Company Visits
  • Visits to laboratory, and work with AIT doctoral/masters students
  • Group projects
  • Presentation and Discussion

When will I know if I am selected for the program?

Once we receive your application, we will communicate with you the status of your application. Typically, you should know whether you are selected or not, latest by 30 May 2014.

If I am selected, when should I pay the fees?

All fees should be paid before 30 May 2014.

How will I get the visa?

If you are selected to join the program, you will receive an offer letter and the fee details. The offer letter will be sent after payment of fees is made and this can be used to apply for visa to Thailand. In case your visa is rejected, the fees paid will be transferred back to the applicant.

Will accommodation be provided?

Yes, shared accommodation, with two students sharing an air-conditioned room will be provided.

What are the food arrangements?

At AIT, Thai, South Asian (including Halal, Vegan and Vegetarian), Western and others are available. Meal coupons provided to the participants can be presented to designated food vendors in campus for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Will transportation be provided?

Airport pickup and drop-off from Suvarnabhumi airport or Don Muang Airport will be arranged.

  • Pick up schedule is anytime between 21 and 22 June 2014.
  • Drop-off schedule is anytime 05 July 2014.

Please send your flight details together with confirmation letter. Transportation for trips organized during the program, such as company/field visit is covered in the program.

Any details on travel insurance?

Travel insurance should be arranged by the participant themselves before they leave their home country.

Any details of medical insurance?

All participants will be covered with basic medical insurance for the period of the program.

What are other facilities available?
